Tradition, quality and enduranceof Dalmatian stone

Descend

In the heart of the Dalmatian karst

Diocletian's Palace stands twenty kilometres from here, raised in Dalmatian limestone seventeen centuries ago and lived in ever since. No laboratory can reproduce that many centuries of wind and salt. The same carbonate platform runs on beneath this karst, and out of it, from three deposits of our own, we quarry Plano and Dolit.

Out of our own rock
since 2002

Three quarries, a processing plant of our own, and a single chain running from the cut in the rock to the slab on the building. Not one link of it leaves our hands, so any finished surface can be traced back to the block it was sawn from.

Tradition

Sprega Kamen was founded on 14 October 2002 at Plano near Trogir. The stone still comes out of the same ground.

Deposits

Three quarries under one roof: Adriakamen and Plano Lithos in Plano, Dalmalit in the hills behind Omiš. Two limestones come out of them, Plano and Dolit.

Plant

No block leaves for someone else to cut. Gang saws and single-blade block saws, a calibrating machine, bridge saws, an edge polisher and a profiling machine stand in our own plant at Plano, and the honing, polishing, brushing, sandblasting and bush-hammering are done on stone we quarried ourselves.

Reach

Built into Frankfurt, Vienna, the Czech Republic and Budva, and shipped as far as the Far East, to China and Korea. Most of it still stands on the coast it came out of.

Three deposits and one plant

Where the stone went

Facades, floors, stairs, promenades and kitchen worktops. Every one of these was sawn from a block that came out of one of the three quarries on the map above.
